Thanks for visiting my blog. I update it sometimes, though not terribly often. It’s mainly a site for me to provide some kind of presence on this big scary internet.
In January 2008, I started what I call ‘The Mad Experiment’, which consists of being more active and eating less … the only ‘diet’ that I think is worth anything. Since I can’t post about work, and I don’t post about much else, for the time being the blog is largely dedicated to my experiences with the Experiment and various political ramblings related to this upcoming election. To date, I’ve lost about 40 pounds and went from a 38 waist (226 pounds, BMI 31.5 — technically obese, but I beg to differ) to just over 33 (183 pounds, BMI 25.5 — still technically overweight, but a lot better). As of the end of September, 2008, I have run 208 miles with my fancy little Nike+ gizmo and my iPod nano. Also, I feel a hell of a lot better on a daily basis than I used to.
I’m an IT type of guy and all-around geek in Santa Barbara.
