So, Rush is over and I officially have no idea what to do with myself. Gone are the interim minutes spent dashing off emails and conjuring documents and data. So here I sit in Starbucks, actually blogging for the first time in too long.
I’m quite happy with the folks that are interested in joining Lambda Chi. We’re still at a loss as to what to call them. Aspiring Associate Members? Pre-Associate Members? N00bs? But they seem like a great bunch of guys.
Apple Computer continues to please me (because, as the solipsist would posit, I am all that matters*). Recently, Mike’s iBook logic board died again (jeez, just call it the motherboard…) and Apple replaced it, out of warranty, and mailed it back to my place (as Mike was in Hawaii) four days later. The tech at the Apple store did a disturbing thing when we took the computer in — iBook CPR. He actually did chest compressions on the lower left of the computer. This caused the screen to come back to life. He’s cool.
My Gmail cup runneth over — if I know you and you’d like a Gmail account, let me know .. they’re freely available until I run out. 1GB of email space and a chance at a cool username (unlike this JCitizen938472348250258902347542309847235042375029445238709423@aol.com nonsense). My gmail address is (in a manner to foil the despicable spambots out there) my first name dot my last name at gmail dot com. Someone needs to do something about these spam people so we can express our email addresses in proper form again.
And it occurs to me that I need to redesign my blog. It faced criticism (ahem Chanpory) from the beginning, but now its starting to sink in that it looks weird for some reason.
I’m in a weird mood for some reason. I think it has to do with the fact that I’ve been eating healthy and taking vitamins and drinking water and gave up coffee (mostly). Maybe I’m actually feeling alert for the first time in a while. But yeah.
